Our flight was an hour and 45 minutes delayed, and the plane was rickety when it finally took off. This is not surprising because when I checked the forecast today, heavy gusts of wind are expected this weekend in Sydney.
We praise God for the miracles that brought us to this flight. It was only yesterday when Daven applied for a visa that gives him travel rights out of Australia that would allow him to come back to live and work indefinitely until his Partner Visa application gets a decision.
I also went with him to the Department of Immigration and Border Protection to update the system of my new passport details with name change. I had to appear in person for this.
When we presented our requests, we were initially told that it would take 2 weeks to effect the changes (my name change and Daven’s new visa), but we stressed that our reason for travel is of an urgent matter. We are going to visit Mama Len, who at that time is confined to an intensive care unit in the Philippines due to a heart condition.
We were advised not to book the tickets yet and just wait for the emails from them. We left with a bit of uncertainty, but once we got out of the building, we pulled to one side to stop and pray. We committed this endeavor to God and trust that he will enable everything necessary in accordance to his will.
We took a 5-min walk towards Parramatta Westfield mall to grab a meal, and as we were about to order, Daven’s phone rang and he stepped outside. I heard him suddenly say, “Oh, thank you very much!”, and later on he revealed that his visa had been granted expeditiously. What a news! God answered our prayers almost instantly.
Later on that night, I also checked online if my details have been updated in the system, and indeed it had been. That means I won’t have any problems exiting and entering Australia as a permanent resident. Truly God is wonderful!
We finally bought our tickets at the last minute, and here we are at PAL flight PR212 en route to Manila to reunite with our family.
All glory and praises to God, who has shown to us in a personal way yet again that indeed He is sovereign. We trust that He is in control of Mama’s condition as well, and we look forward to more miracles in the coming days.
